Coming home from college I thought with a summer job lined up I would work regular hours and have time to see family and hang out with friends...not quite the picture I have. Since I started working last Monday I have been stuck on the 4-10:30 shift that doesn't allow me to see my family because I sleep in and get home late. Most of my friends do work regular hour jobs so I haven't seen much of them either. This is difficult for me because I like to be social, have time for myself, and a regular schedule (planing ahead). All of this said I have become more driven to finish college with a degree because I would absolutely hate working this job for the rest of my life and living week to week.
While going to college I have enjoyed different classes like psychology and sociology which is a little different then the science classes that I need to take in order to become a radiological technologist. There have been many bumps in the road with what major this job title would fall under at UNI and what classes I need to take. I seem to have gotten all the wrong answers because I was set up to be a pre-med. student and was told I need to take all those classes. The problem was I was planning on doing radiology classes at Allen college in Waterloo while getting a bachelors at UNI. UNI wasn't up to date with Allen's information and I got the wrong information which led me to take two classes that I didn't need to take. I did get the information from Allen college about what I need to do and am on that road now with some more classes I need to take before I can get into Allen. There are also some other hoops that I need to jump through and road blocks standing in my way which is causing me to wonder if becoming a radiological technologist is really what God wants me to do. I have thought about becoming a high school guidance counselor but I don't know if that is what I'm supposed to do either. I just have a lot of unanswered questions about my future and I feel like I'm back at square one when it comes to what to do next. Do I still take classes to set myself up for radiology, should I just switch to psychology now, I just don't know and I really like to plan things ahead so right now I'm feeling really uneasy about anything in my future.
